ARDISIA model

Double height: a spatial device to enjoy the internal and external landscape of the house. The building, without basement, is configured as the aggregation of two pure volumes set in the lot. The first volume, articulated on one level, houses the box inside. The second, organized on two levels, houses the living spaces. The two volumes are grafted orthogonally along the wall that is innervated, expanding in height and thickness, to accommodate behind all the service spaces of the house (box, entrance spaces, toilets, corridor and stairwell). The house, characterized by a longitudinal planimetric system, is spread over two levels: the ground floor houses the living area, the upper floor the sleeping area.

The perimeter load-bearing walls of the house, perforated by large openings that open onto the garden and the external area for the possible swimming pool, act as a fence and support the plain wooden roof. An intertwining of visual axes and perspectives generate a dynamic organization of the living space. The living area on the ground floor, enriched by the double height void, overlooked by the staircase and the corridor-hallway, becomes a spatial device capable of progressively enjoying the rhythmic succession of spaces, the internal and external landscape of the house. Upstairs, the sleeping area is organized around the same double-height void: on one side, the rooms for the children face outwards; on the other, the spaces reserved for the owners directly look onto the terrace, located on the box cover.
